How to Sew a Non-Medical Cloth Face Mask at Home

Essence  Of  Mask

In some countries, government officials have decided to provide enough masks to the people of the country. Some of them have also not got the masks due to lack of production of these face masks to protect themselves from this deadly disease.

A person can also make this cloth face masks in their home by an ordinary cloth. So what are the things needed to make this mask,  a cotton sheet, sewing machine, thread, pin, scissors, tape measure or ruler?

Homemade Mask

At first cut, a cotton sheet in a rectangular shape which covers the face, then fold two pleats lengthways, pin and iron flat. Sew across the two ends of the sheet to secure the pleats and repeat it one or two times to form the lining of the cloth.

Now take the laces or the bias tape and gather the loose ends into the centre of the rectangle, put the ends of the tape in four corners and tie them using thread and pin. Now with right sides together stitch them accordingly from one side to the other and also leave a small opening in the middle.

Turn the mask right side out and iron flat at edges to make it perfect. now in that low opening insertion of another small sheet is possible to make it thick. When the sewing is completed around, all the corners check the edges and trim thread.

Finally, the face mask is ready to be used in public and provides protection against COVID-19; in this way, a mask can be made in the home.
