Kora Organics: Miranda Kerr’s Skincare Line Reviewed
The pandemic has changed so much about our lives. Even our beauty routines have changed. The months spent self-isolating and wearing masks have shifted many women’s focus from makeup to skincare. If we used to invest most of our energy into searching for the best shade of lipstick or the dewiest highlighter, now it’s products like moisturisers and serums that are in the spotlight.
And since the pandemic has made us rethink our health more than ever, we’ve also become increasingly aware of the things we put into our body. Just like the spike in the demand for organic food, organic skincare has become a rapidly growing trend as more and more people realise the health risks associated with being exposed to products containing harmful toxins.
When it comes to organic skincare formulations, there’s always been a misconception that since they don’t contain any artificial ingredients, they’re probably not as effective. But this year has managed to dispel many myths, including this one. As more women summon up the courage to experiment with organic skincare products (no one can see the state of your skin under the mask in case of an unwanted reaction), there’s more and more evidence that these actually work.
And some of them we found to be even more potent than the products containing strong chemicals, like for instance, Kora Organics. Founded by world-famous supermodel Miranda Kerr and developed with the help of a team of scientists, the brand produces organic skincare alternatives that include some of the most potent natural actives: Rosehip oil, Aloe Vera, Noni extract and green tea, to name a few. These natural chemistry blends deliver exceptional healing and restorative powers without the use of common toxins.

What Makes Kora Stand Out from Other Organic Lines?
Today, there are countless skincare products on the market with words like “natural”, “clean” or “organic” on their packaging. But unless the products are certified by an independent body, these terms don’t guarantee anything because using them is unregulated. Because of this, manufacturers are free to misleadingly label their products as organic even if they contain some chemically enhanced ingredients.
However, Kora is one of those rare lines that are officially certified as natural and organic by the most trusted international bodies COSMOS-standard and Ecocert. Having this in mind, you can shop Kora organic skincare products without worrying that you’ll be applying something unregulated and potentially harmful on your body’s largest organ.
Is Kora Organics Vegan?
This year has also reminded us of the harmful effects the animal industry can have on global warming as well as the fact that it’s one of the main drivers of emerging infectious diseases, like COVID-19. Because of this, it’s important that we switch to as many vegan-friendly alternatives as we can, including vegan skincare.
That being said, most Kora products are free of animal ingredients and/or by-products and are officially classified as vegan. However, a few formulations do contain beeswax and/or goat’s milk. If you’re vegan, you’d want to avoid the following products:
- Noni Glow face balm (contains beeswax)
- Noni Glow body balm (contains beeswax)
- Vitamin Enhanced Lip Balm (contains beeswax)
- Unscented Cleansing Bar (contains goat’s milk)
But even though the range is not 100% vegan, the good news is that it’s cruelty-free. PETA has confirmed that the Miranda Kerr skincare line doesn’t test any finished products or ingredients on animals, and neither do their suppliers or any third-parties involved in the production. The company also doesn’t sell where animal testing is required by law.
What Are the Best-Selling Products from This Line?
Kora Gentle Cleanser
Cleansers are the basis of every good skincare routine. Unfortunately, most are too harsh and can dry out the skin and disturb its natural pH balance. The gentle cleanser by Kora cosmetics is different in that it’s entirely soap-free. As such, there’s no risk of drying out the skin. In fact, it’s enhanced with Noni fruit, avocado oil and calendula and chamomile extract – ingredients rich in vitamins, minerals and antioxidants which soothe the skin and protect it from moisture loss.
Kora Noni Glow Face Oil
This is the line’s superstar. The Noni glow face oil by Kora Organic smells heavenly and leaves the skin super plump and glowing. As the name suggests, it’s centred around Noni extract, a rich source of skin-loving nutrients such as vitamins C and A, potassium, flavonoids and linoleic and amino acids, all of which are known to improve the skin’s elasticity and tone. Noni is also a natural source of phytonutrients which can boost the skin’s ability to produce collagen.
Additionally, the oil part of this product is made up of rosehip oil and seabuckthorn oil, which are known for it’s amazing hydrating properties. The presence of these oils as well as pomegranate extract can help give you a brighter complexion. Thanks to these natural ingredients, this product is a beauty powerhouse that can bring dull skin back to life.
Kora Noni Bright Vitamin C Serum
It’s never too late to start using a serum. If you’ve never tried one before, a gentle, natural vitamin C serum like the Noni Bright formula is a good starting point. This serum uses the power of sodium hyaluronate (a plant-derived hyaluronic acid) to hydrate the skin, helping it look plumper. It derives the vitamin C from powerful sources like acerola cherry, orange and lemon peel, Kakadu plum as well as the signature ingredient – the noni extract.
These ingredients along with the addition of the 12% ascorbyl glucoside (the most stable form of vitamin C) help to brighten, tighten and plump up dull and lifeless skin. The consistency of the serum is known to be runny and sticky, allowing it to absorb into the skin perfectly within a few seconds.
Kora Turmeric Brightening & Exfoliating Mask
Everyone should give their skin some proper exfoliation from time to time. However, you’d want to avoid chemical exfoliators which can be too harsh and irritate the skin, especially if you already deal with sensitivities. Kora’s Turmeric Brightening and Exfoliating mask is a gentle product that can be used twice a week without the risk of irritating the skin.
Turmeric has long been renowned for its benefits in skincare. It’s an exfoliator that gently removes dead skin cells from the top of the skin without stripping it. As such, it helps to clean out the pores, even out the tone and promote regeneration.
