As if that wasn’t bad enough, it gets worse. That study? It isn’t a recent one – it was completed almost ten years ago, in 1997, when the United States of America Food and Drug Administration was considering whether or not triclosan was a safe product to include in the manufacturing process. And despite that information, and the knowledge that triclosan also stunted developmental growth within many animals, they still approved it, and it has been used ever since.
And the bad news keeps on coming. Colgate Total has built an entire brand around its toothpaste’s amazing ability to cure almost anything that goes wrong within your mouth. However, the United States of America Food and Drug Administration questioned many of these claims, including the one that stated that the toothpaste could cure plaque.
This new information will probably lead many people to ditch their normal Colgate Total brand toothpaste, and look for something a little different, and a little less likely to cause them crazy health problems in the future. After all, when pushed the United States of America Food and Drug Administration stated that triclosan is ‘not known’ to harm us. Surely the research has been done?
