Customizing Jordans

When it comes to customizing Jordans you have many options. If you’re looking to customize cheap Jordans you already own I have a few tips. The first type of customization I recommend trying is recoloring your cheap Jordans. You can do this buy firstly purchasing a cleaning kit that consists of a cleaning product, a cleaning brush and a microfiber towel. This is to first get any dust or dirt off so that the layer of paint will attach to the shoe better. After you have cleaned down you Jordans you can go ahead and purchase the acrylic paint of your choosing. When it comes to painting you can either paint to re-create a different colorway of Jordans you like or you can try and create an all new color scheme. I personally think the beauty of customizing is to make something you own so I would recommend spending some time to come up with your own design. Next I would add tape to parts when you don’t want any paint, this way if you don’t paint in between the lines properly you won’t get paint on the other sections that you want to remain the same.  I would recommend painting a thin layer of paint, waiting for that to dry then reapplying layers and repeating this process until you have a thick coat. You can even leave strips of tape on so that when you peel it off you’re left with your desired design.

If you’re going after an authentic customized look without risking messing it up you could go for a shoe that comes prepared with a customized look. My personal favorite are the Jordan 1 Retro High Defiant White Black Gym Red. They come in a red, white and black color scheme but the most notable feature in my opinion is the removed Nike Swoosh. You can see the stitching of where the Swoosh once was but was intentionally removed. This was designed in a way to copy the fans in the 90’s era that would customize their Jordans by removing sections with a knife. You could technically do this to any Air Jordan 1 sneaker if you wanted.
