When you feel that the days at the office are getting worse and even affecting your productivity, or if every day you feel that the office is no longer a fun place to work thus you always count down the time so you can go home quickly; these are all early signs that you are no longer working in a healthy environment.

It’s also the ultimate sign that you should immediately resign from your job. If you are still unsure whether you should immediately resign from your job or not, get to know these signs before you firmly decide to leave your current job!

1. No Longer Passionate When Working

It will be great if you can work with your heart and be passionate about it. But in reality, not everyone can be so lucky. Some people may carry out their daily activities in the office with a sense of compulsion. They never really work with heart and only try to survive in the workplace to get their monthly payment.  Is it wrong? Certainly not.

However, everything that is done with a sense of compulsion does not produce good results for yourself or those around you. If you start to feel that you are no longer working with your heart or even becoming apathetic, then you may need to step out of your current position.

2. Your Talent and Potential Are Not Valued

Many people have tried their best, but their talents and potential have never been appreciated by the company. Not all companies can appreciate the performance of their employees. If this happens to you, you don’t need to feel that yourself is lacking. This is not your fault, and you should maybe start to look for opportunities elsewhere. Such conditions can be a sign that you have to resign from your job immediately and work somewhere else that takes your needs seriously.

Your mental health is also important to take care of when you are actively working. Because poor mental health will affect your physical health as well. Physical fatigue might be overcome by rest, but when it comes to mental matters, no matter how much rest you have, it won’t have an effect. If mental health is continuously disturbed, it all can lead to stress and depression. Before that all happens, you should prepare yourself to resign from the job.

6. Work Pressure Makes You Unable to Rest

If you are working in a company where you are required to continue working, to the extent that there is no time for rest; or worse yet, you are asked to work outside the working hours without overtime, then this is a critical sign for you to start looking for new opportunities. You have the right to protest or even leave the job without fear.  Remember, you are paid to work, but you are not a machine or robot that can work 24/7.

Just like a machine, if you are continuously forced to work without stopping, instead of giving the best results, what will happen is that the machine explodes and breaks down. Remember that work and life must be in balance.

7. Your Needs Are Not Being Fulfilled

As an employee apart from salary, there are other needs that you may wish that the company can give you as their appreciation for your skills. For example, good health coverage, annual bonuses, high-speed internet collection, and an office cleaning service provider to keep your workspace clean and cluttered-free. These things may look simple, but in actuality, these are so very important because they can help you to be motivated when working, and thus be able to produce high-quality work.

8. No Career Development Opportunity

If in your current company, you don’t get any opportunities to learn new things or develop your skills, then it means that the company does not put their employees’ development first. If this is the case, you may want to consider looking for a new job elsewhere. Not having any chance to develop, can be the ultimate reason that makes you feel bored at your current job. This is why it can be one of the many things you need to consider as a reason why you should resign from your job.

9. No Increase in Salary

As we have stated before, most people work to earn money. In exchange for the skills you provide to the company, you are then paid a monthly salary. However, if you feel your abilities are above average, or if the work that is being given to you is continuously growing as well, there’s nothing wrong with asking for a raise.

Salary is the right of workers and the responsibility of the company. But if the salary you receive doesn’t match the work responsibilities, or if you don’t get a raise even though you have mountainous things to be done daily, then don’t hesitate to look for a new job and immediately resign from the company.

Do keep in mind that deciding to resign from work must be carefully planned. It may be scary and hard to do, but you should still prioritize your health and development before any other things.
